Colin had a game tonight. Papaw, Ron, Ethan, and I were at the game, and sat with Jane Ann & Steve. It was a good game, and the Roughnecks won 26-6(I think this was the final score, but could be wrong). It was the first time for me to see Colin kick in a game. I remember when he told me that he was on special teams as the kicker.......my first thoughts were of Charlie Brown. Ethan practiced with him in the driveway and I keep seeing visions of Lucy and Charlie Brown:-) I have to say he did really well kicking off the ball. No falls, or ripped pants:-) Speaking of pants.........Colin is #18. Check out the color of his pants. Since practice began, I've been a freak about hygiene and washing his clothes. I specifically asked him if I needed to wash his uniform, his response was "NO, they have people that wash them for us." So at tonight's game Jane Ann mentioned how white some of the boys pants were.....I said that Colin's were brown and must not be getting cleaned right. She gave me a puzzled look and I immediately knew that the little bugger had lied to me!!!! Every other mother has been soaking her son's pants in oxyclean........while mine has been wearing filthy stinky pants!!! Here's the best part of the story. When Ron drove Colin home from the game, he asked him why he didn't bring home his pants so I could wash them. Colin replied, "football ain't supposed to be pretty!" There you have it..........he wanted the dirtiest pants so he'd look tough:-)
The photo on the far right is a favorite of mine. #62 is Austin, #35 is Kelton, and #18 is Colin. This in the only picture I've been able to get of Colin & Kelton together. They have been friends since they were tiger cubs in scouts. Austin is the boy who was wearing the brightest & whitest pants on the team. If that ain't an ad for oxyclean, I don't know what is:-)
