re-do

I have done something that I never thought I'd do.........re-do some of my old scrapbook layouts. I just had to, they were so "yuck" and I couldn't even look at the photos without disgust. So I pulled the layouts apart and redid the layouts in a much cleaner style. I hated the old layouts so much that I didn't even take "before" photos!!! Here are 2 layouts from Christmas in 1998......
It's nothing fancy, just my clean & simple style of scrapbooking. I like them so much better without all the stickers and random journaling all over the page. Once I finish redoing all my yucky pages, I plan to make some cards with my newest Cricut cart. Aren't those critters too cute!!! That little chick is gonna make the cutest Easter cards.........all I have to do is find some time to make them:-)
Here is my latest reading list.............
I found all these books in NEW condition at a resale shop for $1.99 each!!!! I'm thoroughly enjoying "look me in the eye" and didn't realize that the author's brother wrote "running with scissors". "15 minutes with God" is a wonderful daily devotional/bible study, I rank Emily Barnes with Beth Moore.......so you know it's very good!!!

Track & Field

Ethan recently tried out for the track team at school and made the team. No surprise there......he has gone to the district track meet several years in Elementary and Middle school. He is quite a fast runner and got chosen to be a sprinter. Then he was told he could do the hurdles. He was ecstatic and I was to be honest nervous. I mean, if he hits one of those hurdles he could really hurt himself. When I mentioned my concern, he simply said "I'm not Colin" true enough! So here are his new cleats with spikes that he is in LOVE with!!!

His first track meet is on Wednesday and I can't wait to see him run~

stuff I'm loving....

Okay......I'll feeling pretty random today, so hear are a few things that have put a smile on my face this week....
I keep a copy of this photo on my scrapbook desk. I just love it! At the time, these three played together all the time. Or I should say Valerie convinced Mellie & Colin to do what she wanted to do~
This little girl just turned one on Tuesday. She is the cutest little thing!!! The photo is blurry, but I just love all the cake smeared all over her face. I so wish I could eat cake like Carly did....it was pure bliss to see the absolute joy on her face with no thoughts about the consequences of all those calories!!!
This stuff has saved my skin this winter. I was skeptical at first about putting it on my face, but it seriously works wonders on my skin!!! Besides moisturizing, it also diminishes dark spots.....WoHoo~
I'm almost finished with this book & it has been a fascinating read. I recommend it to everyone.........you won't be disappointed & you'll learn lots about informed consent & patient's rights.Maybe later I'll post some photos of the scrapbooking pages I've completed over the last few days. I've found my mojo & hope I keep it for a while~

Candy Bouquet

Look at what I made today. So much fun and very easy!!!

I had the best day today. First I found a scrapbook paper holder that retails for $50, for $3.99 at the Goodwill store. Then I met up with a girlfriend for lunch at Chipotle......yummy goodness!!! While at Chipotle, I ran into a PA I used to work with many moons ago at Hermann. Plus the weather was beautiful!!!! I can't wait for the 70 degree weather next week......bring it on~

like mother, like son

I like to take all the claim for Ethan's incredible talent as a basketball player. He had an incredible game last night that included quite a few layups, steals, and rebounds. He even had a blocked shot!
But by claiming all the talent, I also have to claim all the other stuff. So when Ethan shot the perfect layup off an inbounds pass into his opponent's goal, I had to say he got it from me!! When I was in the 7th grade at MJH I can clearly remember fastbreaking down the court, the crowd was cheering me on (or so I thought) and I put up the most perfect layup of my life. Too bad I scored in our opponent's goal. Yep......it's gotta be from me:-) Luckily, they held on to win the game by 3 points~

Much Ado About Nothing.....

Well I think that Colin is listening to me more than I think. I mention from time to time how Meteorologist are one of the few people who can be wrong 50% of the time & still keep their jobs. Point in case.........the 1-3" of snow that has been predicted for days around here and amounted to about 3 flurries & some icicles hanging on the wrought iron fence. So did every computer at the National weather center get this one wrong???? Kinda makes me think of poor old Isaac in Isaac's Storm. But getting back to Colin, I'm thinking he might be looking into a job in weather since screwing up doesn't seem to be risk for losing your job~

I had so much fun making these scrapbook pages using one of my WIP monthly kits. I am finally getting around to scrapbooking our trip to Boston in the Fall of 2007. Wow how time flies.......

I'm freezing.....

It has been way too cold for me today. It's not supposed to get above freezing until Saturday.....what the heck is going on??? I haven't done anything except curl up under a blanket and read. It's too cold to do anything else! Tomorrow we have sleet/ice/snow forecasted for lunch time. What am I gonna do??? Ron seems amused by my cold weather anxiety.......I thought the heater wasn't working earlier today, but I just didn't have it at the right temperature. I'm so ready for 90 degrees and sunny days..........I hate this time of the year~
The only thing positive about this weather is that I've been able to wear my very cute new coat. I have to say it does keep me very warm and in style:-) Next on my list is UGG boots........
