I mentioned yesterday our love of basketball. We had a goal in the driveway that I had gotten Ron many years ago for a birthday, or maybe Father's Day. Anyway, Ethan was shooting some hoops about a week ago and managed to put a hole through the backboard. It was sorta funny & I probably should've taken a photo of the hole, but I didn't. I have to say that Ethan was pretty proud of himself for being the one to achieve such an unusual feat. So with the hole in the backboard, the goal was useless.
Ethan was all about picking out the new one.......he wanted a handle to adjust the height, instead of having to use a broomstick!!! Then there was the ball return so you didn't have to chase the ball down after a shot. Decisions, decisions..... So off he and Ron went to Academy in search of the perfect goal.
Once they got home, they were all about getting their new toy put together. For me, it's always been entertaining to watch an engineer put something together. I grew up with a dad that followed the mantra, "read the directions" So we read the directions and proceeded slowly & cautiously through a project. You can't tell from the photos, but that is "frustration" on Ron's face.......apparently, someone skipped ahead on the directions. I'm not gonna say who, but Ethan loves telling the story!!! Of course I didn't help matters by asking,"did you read the directions first??"

After about 5.5 hours, my boys had their new basketball goal assembled and ready.

Looks pretty good, doesn't it??
