Better late than never~

I finally made my last two graduation cards. It was a big year for graduations & we had EIGHT announcements!!!! The last cards were quick & easy.........the middle strip of cardstock is actually glossy silver. I used the silver stickles I picked up Saturday for the tassel......
Can't wait to get these dropped off at the Post Office.......it'll be one less thing on my "to-do" list~

Scrappy Post

FIrst, I have to start off with this photo of the boys that I LOVE! I took it while we were on the river boat cruise on the Ohio River. I tinkered a tad with some photo editing & really like the look.....Up next......some scrapbooking pages!! Yep, I finally found some time to go to the CK classes in the Woodlands yesterday. I loved 2 of the classes, but the one with the glitter pages wasn't my thing. That glitter is a M.E.S.S. So here are 2 pages that I did yesterday.........

I love the layout with the photos of Colin flying a kite. It was one of those rare moments that I was able to capture. I have quite a few more layouts to add photos to, and I bought some Studio Calico stuff that I can't wait to use. Happy Sunday~

*edited to add.....the pages above used the Echo Park Walk in the Park paper line. I can't remember who taught the class, but we put together 4 pages minus the photos.

Subway

Well it's crooked, but I'm sorta wonky too!!! I'm finally finishing the pages from our Boston trip in 2007. I love these photos we took in the subway......I also love using up my old supplies. I love those chunky alphas & am sad that they are almost all gone~
I was busy Friday making this dust cover for my Expression. It was very easy to make & gives my craft area a much cleaner look.
gotta run~

Cards

Just a few cards I made using my create a critter cart. The first one is a birthday card for Gma Legge......
This is one of my favorites!!! It's a get well card for Gpa Legge. I just love that Squirrel, he's so stinking cute!!
I'm off for my morning walk. After watching all the kids at Ethan's track meet, I realize how much I miss running and wish I did it more often~

re-do

I have done something that I never thought I'd do.........re-do some of my old scrapbook layouts. I just had to, they were so "yuck" and I couldn't even look at the photos without disgust. So I pulled the layouts apart and redid the layouts in a much cleaner style. I hated the old layouts so much that I didn't even take "before" photos!!! Here are 2 layouts from Christmas in 1998......
It's nothing fancy, just my clean & simple style of scrapbooking. I like them so much better without all the stickers and random journaling all over the page. Once I finish redoing all my yucky pages, I plan to make some cards with my newest Cricut cart. Aren't those critters too cute!!! That little chick is gonna make the cutest Easter cards.........all I have to do is find some time to make them:-)
Here is my latest reading list.............
I found all these books in NEW condition at a resale shop for $1.99 each!!!! I'm thoroughly enjoying "look me in the eye" and didn't realize that the author's brother wrote "running with scissors". "15 minutes with God" is a wonderful daily devotional/bible study, I rank Emily Barnes with Beth Moore.......so you know it's very good!!!

early morning cardmaking

I was up early today & made this card for my nephew. I used some CTMH stamps & overlays......it was a very quick little project. Now I need to run to the post office to mail it, so it arrives in time for his birthday!!

more cricut goodies!

I was shaking with excitement when I found a jukebox at Michael's on clearance for $9.99!!! I also picked up another cart that was also on sale. I still can't believe I got it for that price. The original price is $99....yep, it was a really good deal.I found some time yesterday to make a few cards. I have used all the cards I had stockpiled & my plan is to make lots of cards in the next few weeks. This one was lots of fun to make & I just love the chick stamp!!Maggie has officially confiscated the boys Christmas gifts. She absolutely LOVES to curl up in their microfleece blankets that they got for Christmas. Seriously, she is constantly making a nest in them to curl up in.......it's the cutest thing~

Out with the old........

Well there're still signs of Christmas around the house, but I'm hoping to finish getting everything put away later this afternoon. Here's a stash of stuff that I reuse........I just can't seem to throw out perfectly good boxes~Oh my sweet little bug! How I love you, and enjoyed playing with you the last few years. But I had to upgrade this Christmas, but don't worry I already found a new home for you. And you will be taken care of & loved...........you might freeze a few parts off in Michigan, but let's not think about that~
Here is my new toy~ Let's just call it my Christmas gift to myself. My green Expression........I've gotten her all hooked up & ready to go. Right after I finish this post, I'm gonna get busy making some cards!

Last night I heard a rumor via the internet that Michael's had some of their carts on sale for $9.99......I made an early morning run today & got very lucky!!! I was able to find these 2 carts on sale. I REALLY wanted the jukebox that they had on clearance for $10, but they were already sold out of them.I got lots of neat stuff for Christmas this year. Sometimes it's the little things that make me the happiest. An example of this is one of my favorite gifts this year.......
Mary Kay Satin Hands ROCKS!!! My hands have been so dry & cracked, but this stuff really softens them up. Maybe it will make my hands look younger too!! If you need any I know someone who sells MK & I'm sure she'd love to fill an order for you~
Finishing this post with a quick pic of a newly groomed Maggie. She is so happy to be able to see again!!! She's also quite proud of her new PINK collar~

Gotta run......... I hear my craft room calling my name~

In honor of NSD

For the first time in years, I finally got to scrapbook on NSD (National Scrapbook Day). I hope to do some more scrapbooking this week. I tried to knit yesterday, but I had a glass of wine & I quickly discovered that I can't knit with alcohol on board!!! Ron thought it was rather funny that I even made an attempt. So I found myself at my craft table, and put together a layout. It was fun~ I even used my cricut for the title!

Now I'm off to the Mall to shop with the boys. They both need new shorts and some t-shirts.
